Rob, like Steve, will also be travelling back from Turkey for this great challenge.
Having completed the race last year for Kidney Care Uk as part of Team Amy. Rob is once again taking up the 10 mile gauntlet for a cause close to his heart.
As the chair of Trustees, Rob has been closely involved with our team since it was founded, having lived in the village for several months and completing self-funded visits on a number of occasions to see, first hand, the impact our fundraising has on these rural communities.
Unfortunately, Rob's training hasn't entirely gone to plan this year round, but that won't stop him!
"Well here we are... 3 weeks before the big day and in truth, training has not gone well. Work has seriously got in the way, but c'est la vie!
I am now facing 3 weeks of hard graft (not that a little bit of hard work ever hurt anyone) to get myself in decent shape. I'm currently jogging 6k per session, so that's a little over a third of the distance.
Last year the threat of the challenge really focused my efforts, unfortunately life has certainly got in the way this year round, but I know the support on the day, paired with knowing how much good our team is doing, will certainly get me across the line. If not, I'm hoping Robbie might come back and carry me... he is an Iron Man in training after all!"
Rob is clearly in need of your support to help him through the race, so please do give what you can. You can sponsor him here, thank you.
